Admitted Students

Congratulations on being admitted to Mount Mercy University! We're thrilled you're joining the Mustang family!

Freshmen Students: Next Steps

  • Submit your enrollment deposit. $200 saves your spot in the incoming class. The deposit is nonrefundable and applied to your student account.

  • Complete your housing application. There is no separate housing deposit. If you plan to live off campus with a parent (within 30 miles of MMU), please submit your housing exemption form

  • File the FAFSA. To apply for state and federal aid (grants and loans), you'll want to
submit the free FAFSA after October 1. Mount Mercy’s FAFSA Code is 001880. Contact our Financial Aid Office at 319-368-6467 with any questions.

  • RSVP for Scholarship Day. Join us to earn additional scholarship money and
meet future classmates! Learn more about Scholarship Day

  • Sign up for Orientation. You'll meet your classmates, your advisor, and register for classes. More information will be mailed to you in the spring or visit. You must submit your enrollment deposit prior to registering for classes.

  • Return your financial aid award. Be sure to sign and return your financial aid award by May 1 (or two weeks after receipt of award). This step is important so we know you've accepted your aid. Sometimes other documents are also required.

  • Send us your final transcripts. Please request final high school transcripts, AP exams, and any college coursework prior to attending Orientation.

International Students: Next Steps

  • Get your F-1 student visa. Once you're accepted, Mount Mercy will mail you an official admission letter and your I-20 form. With those two documents, your financial statement, and your passport, you can obtain your F-1 student visa from your nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Our office will guide you through this process, and also provide helpful information on travel, packing, and preparing for your study in the United States.

  • Submit your $200 enrollment deposit. Choose Mount Mercy University (how to use Flywire). The deposit saves your spot in the incoming class, allowing you to register for classes and reserve a space in the residence halls.
