Why should I get this certificate?

Recent events have shown us that we're working in a volatile, uncertain, and complex environment that requires our organizations and teams to work remotely. If you work on a remote team—or lead one—this certificate will empower you to consider motivation and collaboration within virtual teams, structure successful employee engagement, and prepare and support leaders for success.

Upskill your capabilities

  • Certificates are the fastest-growing form of post-secondary credentials in the U.S. (The Chronicle of Higher Education)
  • 42% of certificate students gained more responsibilities, earned a promotion, or changed careers while pursing the credential (Harvard Extension School)
  • The number of people with a post-baccalaureate certificate has increased over 50% since 2005 (Forbes)

What are the required courses?

Graduate certificates require 12-13 credit hours (four courses) and can be applied toward an MBA or MSL

This course provides an analysis of team-based practices with a focus on virtual collaboration and teams that embrace change, manage conflict, foster innovation and ultimately reach the desired outcome. High-performance teams bring culture alignment, which cultivates inclusion and strong communication to create a sustainable and successful organization.

By understanding the right channel to deliver communication, one can influence the richness and scope of the message. Students will explore tools and technology to enhance the virtual communication process.

Work dynamics change when co-workers no longer connect in person, and leaders need to know how to lead in a virtual environment. In this course, students will analyze leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to achieve organizational outcomes at a distance.

Organizational policies, procedures, and standards need to adjust to a remote workforce that mirrors the desired culture. The locations of the organization and employees drive cultural norms and the standards in which the remote workforce follows. This course takes an in-depth look at how working remotely affects the desired culture of an organization.
