It’s Iowa’s second-largest city (population 130,000) and located on the picturesque Cedar River. Cedar Rapids ranks as one of the country's top communities, and Iowa has been recognized as one of the best states for public education.

As an international student, I am impressed what Cedar Rapids has to offer. The city offers so much, that you are never bored. Compared to other places in our conference, I would say it is by far the best city to live in.

What can you do around Cedar Rapids?

Iowa City is 25 minutes away and offers many fun activities for students. You can experience a NCAA Division 1 football or basketball game and be a part of pre-game activities. The Iowa Hawkeyes are representing the University of Iowa and they play in front of over 60,000 people on their home field. Iowa City also offers nightlife with many opportunities for students, restaurants to go to with friends, shopping places, and more.

Overall, you will have plenty of activities to choose from. Iowa City is a student city, always lively, and really close to Cedar Rapids.
