About

Dr. Celina Peerman serves as an organizational psychologist with over 27 years of experience from front-line to senior-level positions.

Celina is a strategist with a sense of humor and a love for building capacity in organizations, and her best career advice is:

“Remember, you have something to offer, and we always have something to learn. I want us to be humble yet confident. You don't have to have all the answers, but you need to know when to ask and take the initiative to know when to work through it yourself.”

Celina has been an adjunct professor at Mount Mercy since 2007 and has taught several classes, including Strategic Human Resource Management, Organizational Effectiveness, and Total Rewards. She holds a PhD in psychology, a master’s degree in business, and undergraduate degrees in psychology and international studies.

Celina and her husband, David, have two daughters: Elizabeth, a first-year middle school math and science teacher engaged to an industrial technology teacher (both teaching in Iowa), and Annie, a student at UNI studying to be a guidance counselor who’s active with theater management.

In her spare time, Celina loves to travel and loves theater and music. She’s a passionate arts advocate and an active volunteer, and is a founder of a non-profit youth musical camp that runs each summer.

“If safety, time, and money were no object, there isn't a place in the world I wouldn't visit once! I lived in South America during my undergraduate experience, and in my career I've presented to groups in six countries.”

Celina has a podcast, workplacechameleon.com, which can be streamed on iTunes, Spotify, etc.
