About

Dr. Gimarc serves as the Director of Counseling Services at Mount Mercy University. She graduated with her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kansas State University. Before that, Dr. Gimarc earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Gimarc worked in a variety of settings including on-campus counseling centers, juvenile justice centers, and private practice. She has a passion for working with young adults and is enthusiastic about breaking down negative stigmas surrounding mental health on a college campus. Dr. Gimarc believes that by working to better the mind, space is created to focus on other aspects of life. She focuses strongly in holistic care, using all parts of life to improve every individuals' state of being. In her role as Director, Dr. Gimarc sees students, supervises interns, gives presentations, and hosts workshops. She is also a member of various committees across campus.

When not on campus, Dr. Gimarc enjoys getting outside to run, hike, camp, bike, and kayak with friends and family. She also enjoys curling up with a good book and her cat.
