St. Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University have once again been named to Money’s “Best Colleges” list.
The recognition provides students and families with independent assurance that an education from St. Ambrose or Mount Mercy is affordable and delivers measurable value. Money evaluated more than 700 four-year colleges using 25 metrics, including graduation rates, costs, financial aid, student debt and alumni earnings.
The rankings reflect both universities’ commitment to making higher education accessible and providing degrees that prepare graduates to succeed in the workplace, serve their communities and lead lives of purpose.
“Students and families want confidence that a college degree will prepare them for a meaningful career and provide lasting value,” said Amy Novak, EdD, president and CEO of St. Ambrose and Mount Mercy. “This recognition affirms the strength of our academic programs and the value of a Catholic education that develops professional ability, ethical judgment and a commitment to serving others.”
Mount Mercy was also included among Money’s Best Colleges in the Midwest. In Niche’s 2026 rankings, St. Ambrose was named the No. 4 Best Value College in Iowa. Mount Mercy and St. Ambrose ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, among Niche’s Best Colleges for Nursing in Iowa.
College Raptor also recognized St. Ambrose as a 2026 Hidden Gem College, highlighting high-performing, accessible institutions that may receive less national attention.
These recognitions come during a period of strength and momentum for both universities. Within welcoming Catholic communities, students of all faiths and backgrounds are known, challenged and supported as they prepare for meaningful careers and lives of purpose and service.
