Mount Mercy University and Z102.9 partner to recognize outstanding high school students

Mount Mercy is partnering with Z102.9 and area high schools on the Mount Mercy University Elevate Award.

The award will recognize eight students who have been nominated by their school counselors for their leadership and commitment to service.

All Elevate Award recipients will receive gifts and will be awarded a $500 Elevate Scholarship upon enrolling at Mount Mercy. The first winner will be announced on-air during the Z102.9 Morning Scramble on November 2, and others will be announced every Wednesday until December 20.

“One of Mount Mercy’s founding principles was compassionate service, and we continue to work to create a more equitable world,” said Todd Coleman, Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing. “Identifying and recognizing the future leaders of our community is the impetus for this recognition and award.”

The Elevate Award ties into multiple initiatives for Mount Mercy, including the recent brand refresh with a pillar dedicated to elevating the community, commitments to empowering students and strengthening the community in the new strategic plan, and the introduction of the Mercy Leadership Program in fall 2024, which includes a leadership minor, built-in graduate class, and opportunities for meaningful community service.
