Mount Mercy University and Coe College partner on campus safety

Mount Mercy University and Coe College will partner on campus safety efforts, beginning in June 2023.

“This collaboration will provide an even safer environment for students and employees at both institutions,” said Joe Cerruto, Director of Public Safety at Mount Mercy. “The enhanced security efforts made sense for both Mount Mercy and Coe, as our properties are adjacent to each other and our footprints have expanded.”

The Mount Mercy and Coe campus safety teams will coordinate and share vehicle patrol rounds to include both campuses. Ongoing conversations will take place to continually improve the security packages at each institution.

“The Cedar Rapids Police Department is the final piece of this partnership, as they continue to provide patrols in our neighborhoods and assistance when requested,” Cerruto added. “We’re all dedicated to the same goal: assuring excellent safety measures, service, and support to our students, employees, and community.”
