Dr. Danielle Rudd named Dean of Students

Dr. Danielle Rudd has been named Mount Mercy University’s Dean of Students, effective June 3.

Dr. Rudd has been a full-time faculty member at Mount Mercy since 2016, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Biology and was granted tenure in Fall 2022. Most recently, Dr. Rudd was the Faculty Athletic Representative and Title IX Deputy Coordinator for students.

She has also been active in student co-curricular life, campus committees, and advising registered student organizations over the past several years.

“It’s an honor to serve in this role,” Dr. Rudd said. “I'm excited to be an advocate for Mount Mercy students, spend time with them, and get to know even more students.”

Dr. Rudd will lead the Student Services team and be responsible for support programs, student persistence efforts and outcomes, and the student experience beyond the classroom.

“I’m eager to listen and learn from the team,” Dr. Rudd said. “I want to be as visible and accessible as possible, and I want everyone to feel welcome at Mount Mercy.”

Dr. Rudd received her PhD in Genetics and BSE in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
