Mount Mercy University’s JumpStart program to begin July 8

Update: JumpStart summer programs have been cancelled.

Cedar Rapids students have the opportunity to learn from inspiring speakers, learn about leadership, and play games during Mount Mercy University’s summer JumpStart program, held July 8–July 31.

Social distancing guidelines will be enforced for the safety of children, coaches, and staff. Mount Mercy continues to monitor the latest information from the CDC and our state and county health departments.

JumpStart's mission is to inspire children of Cedar Rapids to reach their educational potential by teaching vital lessons in leadership and academics as part of free sports programming at the Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex.

Third through seventh grade students participate in leadership and growth opportunities such as guest speakers, themed discussions, reading and writing activities, sportsmanship activities, and dinner.

The camp runs July 8–July 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 939 17th Street NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52402.
