Mount Mercy University nursing professor named one of 100 Great Iowa Nurses

Dr. Kim Bro, assistant professor of nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing chair at Mount Mercy University, has been named one of 100 great Iowa Nurses.

Dr. Bro was nominated by a colleague who is familiar with her contributions to the nursing community.

"I love what I do; taking care of patients and educating future nurses and nurse educators," said Bro. "I am very proud to be a nurse and in today's ongoing pandemic you can see how valued the nursing profession is."

100 Great Iowa Nurses

In order to be considered, the nominee must hold a current Iowa Registered Nurse license, have a minimum of three years as a practicing nurse, and made significant contributions to the nursing profession.

In addition to teaching nursing students full-time, Dr. Bro is a staff nurse in the Heart Holding unit and teaches Basic Life Support at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital. Dr. Bro also volunteers as an intake nurse at the Community Health Free Clinic.
