Storm Recovery Efforts

The Mount Mercy campus has sustained significant damage from the August 10 derecho wind storm. The campus is closed, and all students and non-essential employees are advised to stay home until further notice. Move-in is delayed, and more information will be available as power and cell service are restored. For updates, please visit the Storm Recovery webpage.

COVID-19 Update | Safe Return to Campus

Mount Mercy is excited to welcome students back to campus this fall. Courses will be offered in-person, hybrid, and online, and masks will be provided and required outside your solitary space. Common areas and classrooms have been configured for social distancing. For more information, visit the Safe Return webpage. NOTE: Storm recovery efforts may impact fall plans. Please check back.

Endowment

One of the most valuable gifts you can give is the gift of education. Supporting an endowed scholarship fund is one of the most enduring ways to impact the lives of students at Mount Mercy University.

Today, Mount Mercy is blessed with more than 250 endowed funds—designated by donors for scholarships and other purposes.

Our endowment value at the end of Fiscal Year 2016 stood at $22.2 million. Annual income generated by the endowment provides a continuous and reliable source of income to support our strategic initiatives.

The vast majority of our endowed funds are scholarships, which are awarded every year to students who meet the qualifications specified by donors. Any excess of the total return over the scholarship payout amount is retained in the endowment, helping the fund grow over time and enabling its future payout to keep pace with inflation.

Other endowed funds provide funding for specific curriculum, on-campus programs like Enactus, annual lectures, new technology and facilities, etc.

Your endowment can support what matters most to you, both now and for generations to come.  Support for endowment is an important investment in the success of Mount Mercy and our students!

The following minimum requirements for establishing a named endowed fund have been set to ensure that endowments provide sufficient annual spending amounts to cover the estimated costs of the program/purpose they support now—and in the future. Additional contributions may be added at any time.
