About

Kaylee Small has been an adjunct nursing faculty member at Mount Mercy University since 2017. She has accepted a full-time nursing instructor position in fall 2020 at Mount Mercy University.

Kaylee is primarily teaching at the sophomore nursing level. She will be doing a handful of roles, such as teaching sophomore and junior clinicals, assisting with lab assessment and skills test outs, organizing clinical schedules, assisting with grading assignments and instructing nursing courses. She enjoys teaching nursing students to become caring and competent nurses.

She is passionate about emergency nursing and continues to work part time in the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s UnityPoint Hospital. Kaylee has been with UnityPoint for 9 years. She enjoys critical care nursing and all the patients and families lives she has impacted.

In her spare time, Kaylee enjoys being outdoors, working in her flower beds, going on walks, and boating. She has been married one year and her and her husband are getting ready to welcome their first child in March 2021.
