About

Associate Professor of Chemistry Kristopher Keuseman joined the Mount Mercy community in the fall of 2009.

Prior to coming to Mount Mercy Keuseman was a visiting assistant professor of chemistry at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Keuseman's research has focused on synthesis and characterization of organometallic palladium compounds, catalysis and green chemical synthesis.

During his doctoral studies at the University of North Dakota Keuseman served as president of the Chemistry Graduate Students' Association for two years. In 2001, he received both the Distinguished Departmental Service award and the Excellence in Student Teaching Award. In 2003 he was a guest of the U.S Department of Energy at the Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany, as well as received the Dr. Ronald G. Severson Graduate Research Scholarship. In 2005, he was the recipient of the Severson-Coon Graduate Teaching Scholarship.

Keuseman is a member of the American Chemical Society and its Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry divisions. In his free time, Keuseman enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and singing.
