About

Associate Professor of Education, Paula Ganzeveld, joined Mount Mercy in Fall 2009.

She previously taught at Williamsburg High School, Prairie View Elementary, and Prairie Ridge Elementary, focusing on learning strategies and special education. She holds a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Master's in curriculum and instruction, with emphasis in literacy education and endorsement in K-12 reading specialist.

She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), Learning Disabilities Association (LDA), International Reading Association (IRA), and the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET). She also donates her time as a volunteer with the Special Olympics and ARC of East Central Iowa.

Ganzeveld has previously been nominated for Outstanding Masters Paper at the University of Northern Iowa and College Community School Board Recognition. She and her husband, who teaches third-grade, have two children.
