About

Dr. Clark has worked as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the areas of gynecologic oncology, chronic pelvic pain, and general gynecology.

Through that work, she found a passion for mental health. Therefore, Dr. Clark went back to school to obtain her psychiatric nurse practitioner degree so she could care for both the physical and mental health needs of her patients. Dr. Clark currently has her own mental health practice in Iowa City where she can prescribe psychiatric medications and offer psychotherapy.

While working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Dr. Clark precepted medical, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner students in her clinics. After leaving the University of Iowa, she missed working with students and thus started a position as a professor for nurse practitioner students at a large university. The program was completely online, and the class sizes were very large. Dr. Clark was drawn to Mount Mercy due to the small class sizes and the in-person connection she can make with students.
