Maintenance Staff | Mount Mercy Campus

Mount Mercy University is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Staff Member to help keep our beautiful campus operating at its best. As a vital part of our Facilities Team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the physical plant across designated areas, with the flexibility to assist in any part of campus indoors or outdoors as needed.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders promptly, based on priority.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain accurate records for work performed, including inventory and equipment reports.
  • Foster a positive and professional environment across campus.
  • Participate in project work during academic breaks.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance and other duties as assigned.
  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs independently; heavier lifting with assistance.
  • Work may involve standing, walking, crawling, stooping, and other physical activity.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles daily.
  • Physically capable of performing all essential job functions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to be on-call and occasionally work evenings or weekends.
  • Overtime availability during emergencies, inclement weather, or special events.
