St. Ambrose University is seeking a talented and motivated Graphic Designer to support the creative and strategic design needs of both St. Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who’s ready to grow; someone who loves bringing ideas to life, exploring new design trends, and using creativity to tell meaningful stories. You’ll work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment where design, strategy, and purpose meet. This position could be worked in Davenport, IA or Cedar Rapids, IA (In-Person).
What you'll do
- Design and produce engaging visual content for print and digital media, including ads, publications, signage, web assets, and social media.
- Collaborate with marketing strategists, writers, and fellow creatives to develop brand-aligned concepts that inspire action and belonging.
- Maintain brand consistency across both universities’ creative materials.
- Support campaign development, production workflows, and vendor coordination.
- Stay current on design trends, accessibility standards, and creative technologies — including AI and motion design tools.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or in progress).
- 2–4 years of professional or internship experience in graphic design or related creative work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
- Strong sense of layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Familiarity with Figma, HTML5, or motion design tools is a plus.
