Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational university founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1800 students. The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city.

Mount Mercy University is seeking candidates to fill the position of Director of Undergraduate Admissions within the Enrollment Department. This position reports to the vice president of enrollment and marketing and is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position.

Primary purpose

The director of undergraduate admissions is responsible leading the university’s traditional undergraduate recruitment efforts and for formulating and measuring the progress towards its recruitment goals. The director provides leadership in the development and implementation of marketing and recruitment strategies to attract new full-time traditional undergraduate students – both first-year and transfer students. The director leads the admissions staff with enthusiasm, professionalism and a thorough knowledge of best practices and works collaboratively with staff, faculty, music department, athletic coaches, and other departments to reach institutional enrollment goals. Directly supervises the undergraduate admissions team including admission counselors, associate and assistant director(s).

Qualifications

A masters degree and minimum of 5+ years of experience in college/university admissions or related experience in higher education required. 3+ years of supervisory experience required. Previous experience with marketing higher education undergraduate programs, and leveraging admissions software/data-bases preferred (Microsoft Office & SLATE).
