Custodian | Mount Mercy Campus

Mount Mercy University campus is seeking a dedicated and dependable Custodian to join our Facilities Department. As a member of our custodial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness across assigned areas of campus. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and sanitary environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and effectively to custodial emergencies.
  • Ensure assigned areas are cleaned and maintained daily.
  • Promote and adhere to all safety standards for your own safety and that of others using the spaces you clean.
  • Exhibit professionalism in conduct, attire, and attitude.
  • Complete assigned tasks and additional duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Foster respectful and courteous customer service relationships with faculty, staff, students, and fellow team members. 

Qualifications

  • Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness standards
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • May be required to work during evenings or weekends, depending on scheduling needs
