Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational University founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1600 students. The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city.

Mount Mercy University is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Admission Counselor in the Enrollment and Marketing Department This position reports to the Director of Admissions. This is a full-time position.

Primary Function

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting students to the University by developing relationships with prospective students and their families in order to assist students in learning how Mount Mercy University may be a good fit for their educational goals.

The individual in this position is responsible for developing and implementing of a variety of recruitment activities and services which will attract and benefit freshmen and transfer students to the university. The duties of this position require work in the evenings and on designated weekends for on and off-campus recruitment events. In addition, this position requires travel to high schools and college fairs for recruitment outreach efforts and evening virtual event coordination.

Qualifications

A bachelors’ degree, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to travel independently required. One or more years in college/university admissions, related experience in higher education, or experience in counseling, event planning, hospitality services, communications, or marketing. The individual must possess a valid driver license to operate a vehicle in the United States.
