Social Work Program Part-Time Administrative Assistant | Mount Mercy Campus

Mount Mercy University campus is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Social Work academic program. This part-time, 10-month position plays a key role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the program, supporting faculty and students, coordinating field placements, and ensuring data accuracy for accreditation purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop databases for student records, field placements, surveys, and accreditation metrics
  • Coordinate logistics for program events and faculty-community meetings
  • Support faculty with clerical work, data collection, and research-related administrative tasks
  • Manage communication channels and provide a professional and welcoming reception for students, faculty, and agency partners
  • Create promotional materials using Publisher and other tools
  • Order and track office supplies; manage accurate digital and physical filing systems
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive academic and student records

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education preferred
  • At least four years of relevant administrative or clerical experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) and ability to learn new database systems
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Professional demeanor with a customer service-oriented approach
