Adjunct Computer Science Faculty Position

Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational university founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1,500 students. The university offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated, and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Position Summary

Mount Mercy University is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach CS 190 – Computer Organization and/or CS 226 – Programming in Visual Basic in our undergraduate programs for the fall semester of 2022. These courses are taken predominantly by our computer science and management information systems major respectively. 

  • CS 190 – Computer Organization meets in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00-9:30 AM and Fridays from 8:00-9:50 AM.
  • CS 226 – Programming in Visual Basic meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-9:30 PM.

Candidates should have a doctorate or masters’ degree in computer science or a related field, or be working towards completion of their degrees. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
