Storm Recovery Efforts

The Mount Mercy campus has sustained significant damage from the August 10 derecho wind storm. The campus is closed, and all students and non-essential employees are advised to stay home until further notice. Move-in is delayed, and more information will be available as power and cell service are restored. For updates, please visit the Storm Recovery webpage.

COVID-19 Update | Safe Return to Campus

Mount Mercy is excited to welcome students back to campus this fall. Courses will be offered in-person, hybrid, and online, and masks will be provided and required outside your solitary space. Common areas and classrooms have been configured for social distancing. For more information, visit the Safe Return webpage. NOTE: Storm recovery efforts may impact fall plans. Please check back.

Upcoming Events

Catch up with alumni in your area, join us for a weekend filled with events and activities, and show your MMU spirit loud and proud!

Homecoming & Alumni Weekend

After careful and thoughtful discussion, Mount Mercy has made the very difficult decision to cancel Homecoming & Alumni Weekend, September 25-27, 2020, to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

While we will not have in-person events and activities during this weekend, we are still exploring options to recognize and celebrate our outstanding alumni and students.

  • Alumni Awards: Honoring the achievements of our remarkable alumni is truly a time-honored tradition at Mount Mercy. While we're exploring options to recognize our alumni, it may be necessary to delay this event until we gather together for Homecoming & Alumni Weekend in Fall 2021.

  • Golden Graduates: We're always grateful for the opportunity to honor our Golden Graduates. We plan to connect with these exceptional men and women this fall and recognize their lifelong accomplishments when we come together in Fall 2021.

  • Hall of Fame: We want to be sure that we properly honor our three distinguished Hall of Fame inductees with their friends, family, and our community. We are planning to celebrate their induction into the Mount Mercy University Hall of Fame in Fall 2021.

We had a great time connecting with all of you that made your way back to the Hill during Homecoming & Alumni Weekend 2019, and we look forward to seeing you back on the Hill in Fall 2021!

For 24 hours, we invite Mustangs to show their MMU spirit loud and proud—reinforcing just how much we all have and give Mercy!

The second annual #HaveMercyGiveMercy, a day of spirit and support on May 1, 2019, was a great success because of alumni, donors, students, faculty, and staff.

Our goal was 501 total donors (on 5-01) and once we hit that goal, a $25,000 challenge gift from our Board of Trustees would be donated to MMU. Not only did we meet the goal (and get the extra $25,000), but we had over 550 donors and over $88,000 to support the Mount Mercy Fund.

Together, we celebrated Mount Mercy at seven events, gathered for photos with Mustang Sally at 11 businesses, and filled social media with MMU pride. May 1 was an extraordinary day for our coMMUnity— thanks to you!
