What is a minor in statistics?

Build the skills to understand data and make informed decisions.

The statistics minor provides students with the tools to collect and interpret data with confidence. As organizations increasingly rely on data to guide decisions, students develop skills in statistical reasoning and quantitative analysis that can be applied in many different professional settings. This minor complements many majors by helping students turn data into informed action.

Curriculum

Develop practical data analysis skills

The statistics minor introduces students to the principles and methods used to analyze and communicate data. Through coursework, students explore statistical concepts, data collection techniques, probability, and analytical methods used to identify patterns.

Students gain experience applying statistical reasoning to real-world questions while developing skills in analysis and communication. Whether students are exploring research or improving business strategies, the statistics minor prepares students to use data with confidence in a wide range of environments.
