Expand your knowledge and abilities

Make a bigger impact today. Nurses with a valid RN license can enroll in our RN-BSN program for working professionals.

With an 18-24 month average completion, Mount Mercy's RN-BSN program allows you to obtain your BSN by building on skills you already have.

Upon completion of the application process, the RN-BSN advisor assists students in establishing the most appropriate program of study. The program is designed to include the granting of credit for past learning and consideration of the needs of adult learners.

Program objectives include:

  • Respect and value the dignity of human life
  • Appropriately implement selected nursing interventions
  • Integrate knowledge derived from liberal arts, science, and nursing in professional nursing practice

What will I learn?

Accelerate your education.

In accordance with the Iowa Articulation Plan for Nursing Education, RN to Baccalaureate, Mount Mercy offers a plan of study tailored for working RNs to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in a quicker timeline.

There's no need to wait months to start taking classes. At Mount Mercy, we have nine start dates throughout the year, and class blocks are every five weeks.

I feel I’m more aware of how I interact with students, new grad employees, and management. I have also joined new committees at work seeking new ways to improve patient satisfaction and care.
