Appreciation for life sciences

Biology majors receive an education that prepares them for medical careers, research, education, conservation and more. While core classes include courses such as Genetics, Ecology and General Chemistry, electives in Global Environmental Issues, Human Anatomy, Microbiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Animal Behavior give students opportunities to tailor their degree and focus on their passion.

Develop the intellectual expertise and technical skills

Accomplished faculty help students develop the intellectual expertise and technical skills necessary to succeed in biology-related fields or go on to professional or graduate programs. Student success is Mount Mercy’s top priority. Individualized advising, small class size, and access to research and internship opportunities put Mount Mercy students ahead of other Eastern Iowa graduates.
