Washington Semester Program

Washington Semester Program

Mount Mercy University and  American University have an agreement that gives Mustangs the opportunity to spend a semester in Washington DC, taking courses at American University and completing an internship with national or international organizations.

Participation is open to all majors pending approval from the student's advisor, the Washington Semester Coordinator, and the Provost's office. Students interested in American government, foreign policy, business, public law, international law, religion, and public health enjoy this opportunity. For a complete list click here.

Students take a seminar in a concentration area, which is then matched with an internship, workshops and round tables. Besides an internship and the seminar attached to it, students can take elective courses, including travel courses.
