Mount Mercy University will host a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Moms Night Out on April 23 from 6 – 8 p.m. in Betty Cherry Heritage Hall in collaboration with the Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Partnership (IMSEP). The family-friendly event is free, but registration is required.
Through a variety of innovative programs and resources, the IMSEP identifies, recruits, prepares and supports the best mathematics and science instructors in the nation. These mathematics and science professionals are poised to help regain Iowa's top position in education and prepare a world-class cadre of thinkers for the next wave of exciting, high-tech careers.
Moms Night Out, a satellite event of the USA Science and Engineering Festival, is a one-night, statewide celebration of math and science education that recognizes mothers’ and other caregivers’ vital roles in stimulating children's imaginations for all things science, technology, engineering and math. Childcare will be provided (potty-trained children ages 3 and up). All families will receive take-home kits that include extension activities for continuing the fun at home!
