Mount Mercy University departments, clubs and programs have the ability to create an official Mount Mercy-affiliated presence on social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter after appropriate protocol is followed (see Required by the University).
Departments, clubs and programs are responsible for ensuring that content posted by, or on behalf of, their specific entity adheres to all Mount Mercy University social policies (Volume III University-Wide Policies 10-24-13).
Required by the University:
Parties interested in launching a new official social media platform must schedule a face-to-face meeting with the web manager or coordinator of marketing prior to creating/launching any new account. Athletic affiliations must connect with the sports information director prior to creating/launching any new account.
Login information to official accounts such as Twitter or LinkedIn must be provided to the university’s marketing office.
A staff from the marketing office must be assigned administrative rights to official accounts such as Facebook or LinkedIn.
