The purpose of the Gerald & Audrey Olson Marriage & Family Therapy Clinic (Olson MFT Clinic) is to provide Marriage and Family Therapy graduate students at Mount Mercy University with an opportunity to provide direct client mental health services to individuals, couples, and families in Cedar Rapids, and the greater eastern Iowa area.
Student interns are required to strictly adhere to the Code of Ethics of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and work under the direct supervision of a licensed mental health practitioner. Student interns work with their supervisors to conceptualize issues and problems, deliver effective interventions, and evaluate clinical outcomes for each client system.
Student interns are able to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including (but not limited to):

|Mood Disorders||Sexual Dysfunction|
|Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder||Eating Disorders|
In addition to working with general mental health problems, student interns in the Gerald & Audrey Olson Marriage & Family Therapy Clinic provide assistance to those wishing to improve relationship functioning and/or parenting skills.
Cost of Services
The minimum fee for services is $10 per 50 minute session and the maximum fee is $30. Fees are based on income levels, and clients must pay for services at the time of the appointment. Insurance is not accepted as the clinic does not participate in any third party billing.
Clinic Hours of Operation
The clinic may also be open limited hours during semester breaks and will be closed for university sanctioned holidays and spring break.
