2011 Presidential Lecture Series

On Tuesday, April 5, 2011 Mount Mercy University welcomed the University of Iowa’s Professor of Law and President Emeritus Willard Boyd, S.J.D., as the annual Presidential Lecture series speaker. Boyd's lectured on "The Role of Charitable Nonprofit Organizations in the United States." 

A renowned lawyer and educator, Boyd serves as Chair of the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center and serves as the President Emeritus of The Field Museum of Chicago.

As one of the founders of the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center, Boyd focuses on the role of nonprofits in Iowa and the United States. The Center is a university-wide interdisciplinary program involving departments and faculties from across the University who are interested in and engaged with nonprofit organizations.
