Mount Mercy University will pause to reflect on the institution's unique Mercy heritage during Mercy and Mission week Sept. 21 - 27. As part of the week-long celebration, Sisters of Mercy help students connect classroom teachings to the Sisters’ critical concerns— immigration, nonviolence, women and environmental issues. Faculty and staff gain insights from the Sisters on how their work across campus can connect to the critical concerns in a powerful way.

Doug Brock will become Mount Mercy University’s vice president for finance and business operations this September. Brock, a CPA, brings 20 years of financial expertise to the role. “Doug has exhibited a true passion for the Mercy mission, not only professionally, but through his community volunteer work as well,” said Mount Mercy President Laurie Hamen. “We’re pleased to welcome him to campus this fall.” Brock obtained his M.A. in accounting from the University of Iowa and looks forward to utilizing his skills in the nonprofit sector.
