American artist Robert Shetterly and his Americans Who Tell the Truth traveling portrait exhibit will be on Mount Mercy University’s campus April 4–7. Shetterly will host a Q&A session and artist talk on April 6, and will join classes during the week to discuss his work. The portraits and narratives highlight citizens who courageously address issues of social, environmental and economic fairness. By combining art and other media, the exhibit offers resources to inspire a new generation of engaged Americans who will act for the common good, our communities and the Earth.

Mount Mercy University’s Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program is moving to a fully online platform in Fall 2016 to better accommodate students’ needs. The online platform, which was first introduced as a part of the master’s-level program in Fall 2014, allows for additional flexibility students in the program require.

Mount Mercy University will hold its annual Multicultural Fair on Wednesday, March 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Hennessey Recreation Center. The fair will showcase the various cultures represented in Mount Mercy’s diverse student body by inviting international students to share their heritage and customs with others.

Education in Iowa is constantly changing and evolving, affecting higher education students seeking degrees in education-related fields. To help answer questions looming in the minds of education majors, Mount Mercy University’s Student-Iowa State Education Association (S-ISEA) will host a Superintendent Q&A panel on March 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall.

Delegates from the eastern European country of Moldova spent Friday morning at Mount Mercy University meeting with school representatives and learning about private college administration. The delegates are a part of the International Visitor Leadership Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State aimed at providing short-term international visitors opportunities to experience the U.S. firsthand.

Mount Mercy University senior Monica Kordick will join the ranks of over 1,100 people who have dedicated a year of their lives to Mercy Volunteer Corps, an organization promoting social change by placing and supporting volunteers with people who are economically disadvantaged and marginalized in the United States and South America.
