Mount Mercy University administration, faculty and staff gathered on Wednesday in the Chapel of Mercy to sign a statement against hatred and intimidation. A short prayer service, “Prayer for Peace and Understanding,” preceded the signing. The statement, in response to increased nation-wide reports of hatred and intimidation based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status and other factors, reads in part:
