ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Despite brutal spring weather conditions, the Mustangs battled to earn ninth of 28 teams for the men, while the women were 13th of 24. Luke Nickelson (JR/Nipomo, Calif) led the men's charge with two first place performances and Mount Mercy school records in the Long Jump (7.04m) and Triple Jump (13.98m).

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mother Nature restricted play this weekend as the Mustangs competed in the Purgatory Intercollegiate. Play was shortened to just one round due to weather. The men finished in ninth place of 17 teams with a score of 298 (+10) while the women finished fourth of nine teams with a 326 (+38).On the men's side, the Mustangs were led by Will Bruyeres (SR/Brisbane, Australia) in a tie for eighth place with a one-under 71.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The nationally-ranked number eight Mustangs traveled for one last regular season tournament this weekend. After dropping a five-set match to Saint Xavier University just a week ago, the Mustangs came for redemption in a 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 18-25, 22-25, 15-10) victory over the Cougars this time around. In their second and final match of the tournament, the Mustangs faced the tournament-host, Viterbo University V-Hawks, in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-16) sweep.

Mount Mercy alum, Dennis Kann '11, is the March A for Education winner. Dennis graduated from Mount Mercy in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, endorsement in K-8 Reading. He later returned to Mount Mercy's MAEd program to earn endorsements in K-12 Instructional Strategist II, Behavior Disorders/Learning Disabilities and K-8 Instructional Strategist I. DUBUQUE, Iowa – The nationally-ranked number eight Mustangs traveled to face the (RV) Clarke University Pride in their conference finale. After taking the first set, the two teams battled back and forth for the lead. The Mustangs claimed the fifth and final set to defeat the Pride 3-2 (25-15, 20-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-11).

BALDWIN CITY/ATCHISON, Kan. – The Mustangs opened Heart of America Conference play on the road this weekend. On Friday, the first stop to take on the Wildcats of Baker University resulted in a split of the doubleheader. After a day of rest, the Mustangs rolled past the Ravens of Benedictine College on Sunday snagging both games of the doubleheader. The Mustangs move to 10-6 on the season and 3-1 in conference.In the first series against the Wildcats, the Mustangs were stunned after a nine-run bottom of the fourth that resulted in a 14-2 (5 Innings) win for the home team in game one.

CHICAGO, Ill. – The nationally-ranked number eight Mustangs traveled over the weekend to compete in the Saint Xavier/Trinity Christian College Crossover. On Friday, the Mustangs dropped a five-set heartbreaker to the (RV) Cougars of Saint Xavier University. Bouncing back on Saturday, the Mustangs defeated tournament co-host, Trinity Christian College Trolls, 3-0 and the Phoenix of Cumberland University (Tenn.) 3-1. The Mustangs move to 18-7 overall on the season.In match one of the weekend, the Mustangs outlasted the Cougars in a 30-28 opening set to then go on and claim set two 25-20.

PRIMM, Nev. – The Mount Mercy Golf Teams kicked off the spring season competing in the Battle at Primm, Nev. on Monday and Tuesday. In the most recent NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Mustang men were voted into the number 19 spot. After the last round was posted today, the team finished T-13th of 20 teams with a three-round total of 877 (+37).

MEMPHIS, Tenn./FAYETTE, Mo. – The Mustangs opened the outdoor track and field season in two different locations this weekend. A group of individuals traveled to compete in the Rhodes College Invitational while the remainder of the teams competed at the Central Methodist University Open.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Mustangs opened the 2019 season at Busse Field on Saturday with a nonconference doubleheader against the Waldorf University Warriors. A mixture of producing at the plate and solid defense propelled the Mustangs to two wins getting them back to .500 on the season with a 5-5 record overall.In game one, the Mustangs wasted no time throwing two runs up on the board after a two-out double by Tawny Menster (SR/Olin, Iowa) in the bottom of the first.

CANTON, Mo. – The ninth-ranked Mustangs were on the road tonight battling the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton College. During the first matchup of these two teams, the Mustangs held on in a five-set thriller. Tonight, the Mustangs took care of business in a 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-15) sweep moving to 16-6 on the season and 8-1 in the Heart of America Conference.In set one of the night, the home team jumped out to an early 3-0 lead.
