It is with great sadness that Mount Mercy University mourns the passing of Sister Judith Meyers, who died peacefully at Mercy Medical Center on October 27, 2013. Sister Judith served as Mount Mercy’s mission officer for many years. Friends may call at the University’s Chapel of Mercy from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, with the wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 30. Our thoughts are with Sister Judith’s family, friends, and the Sisters of Mercy during this difficult time.

Mount Mercy joins Corridor communities in mourning the loss of alumna Peggy Whitworth ’64, who passed away October 25, 2013. Peggy was instrumental in creating the Brucemore Historic Site, serving as its executive director until 2007. High school students from area schools attended the 16th Annual Mount Mercy Mathematics Contest on October 18, 2013 and competed in a variety of math challenges in areas such as speed, accuracy and story problems.
