Mount Mercy College will hold a Master of Business Administration Information Session on Thursday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall on the Mount Mercy campus. The application fee will be waived for all attendees.The MBA Info Session will include an overview of the accelerated format and curriculum of Mount Mercy’s graduate program, a question and answer session with current students and faculty, door prizes, information on Mount Mercy’s financial aid opportunities, and an optional campus tour.

Mount Mercy’s Assistant Professor of History Adam Ebert was recently awarded the Gilbert C. Fite Award for the best dissertation in agricultural history from the Agricultural History Society. Ebert’s dissertation, “Hive Society: The Popularization of Science and Beekeeping in the British Isles, 1609-1913,” is believed to be the first dissertation from a student writing on a non-U.S. history topic that has won this award.

Associate Professor of Art and Department Chair of Communications, Literature and Arts Kathryn Hagy has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant by the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to teach at the Fine Arts College of Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal during the 2010-2011 academic year.

Visitors can view vibrant, innovative and inspiring pieces this summer as Mount Mercy showcases the creative artwork of its students. Pieces range from oil on canvas to weavings, to etchings and drawings on paper. “We have an incredibly talented group of up-and-coming underclass art students, and we are excited by their potential, which is evident in many of the works on display,” says Associate Professor of Art Kathryn Hagy.

This year’s theme was “Becoming a Global Citizen in Mercy.” The conference was held at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. Atkins’ presentation detailed Mount Mercy’s endeavors to become more environmentally sustainable.

Mount Mercy will hold its annual Iowa Immigration Heritage Multicultural Fair on Monday, April 19 from 3:00 – 7:30 p.m. The fair, which takes place in Betty Cherry Heritage Hall, is free and open to the public.In addition to food, arts and crafts representing the cultures of Mount Mercy’s international students, there will also be entertainment such as Brazilian dancers, Latin America music and dances, and Irish ballet dancing. Guests will also have an opportunity to take a practice Citizenship Test in Lundy.
