Frontier Natural Products Co-op™ employee band Aeroroot, comprised of Mount Mercy College Assistant Professor of Business Tracy Tunwall, alumni Clint Landis ’88 and Brett Karminski ’01, along with Steve Krusie, Frontier’s public relations director, has been selected for the semifinals of Fortune magazine’s annual “Battle of the Corporate Bands” for the second straight year in a row. The band will perform in Las Vegas on May 22 at the Western Regional Competition.

The Mount Mercy College Choir will perform A Schubertiad, the music of Franz Schubert, during a special performance on March 17 at Noon in Stello Performance Hall, Warde Hall on the Mount Mercy campus. The concert is free and open to the public.The Choir will perform “To Music,” “Little Rose on the Heath,” “Laughter and Tears,” “To the Nightingale,” “Travelling,” “Death and the Maiden,” “Serenade,” “Night and Dreams,” “Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel,” “The Joy of Living,” and “The Dance.”

Mount Mercy College will welcome acclaimed essayist and poet Michael Dennis Browne for a special poetry Q&A and musical performance titled “Words and Music,” on February 25. The Q&A begins at 3:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall, and the special musical performance with the Mount Mercy College Choir begins at 7:30 in Stello Performance Hall, Warde Hall.

Saxophone Artist Ray Blue will perform a special celebratory concert titled “Music of Change” on Monday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. in Stello Performance Hall, Warde Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Mount Mercy College Choir and Jazz Connection presented a ceremony of traditional readings and carols of the season on Wednesday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. The concert took place in Stello Performance Hall, Warde Hall, and was free and open to the public. The choir performed Psallite by Michael Praetorius, Carol of the Candle by Stephen Paulus, My Dancing Day, arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, Sing We All Noel, arranged by Gary Parks, and Christmas Day by Gustav Holst.
