Mount Mercy University has announced the addition of a fifth graduate program. The Master of Strategic Leadership program started in Spring 2014 with classes offered weeknights and Saturdays to accommodate busy working professionals.
Mount Mercy University is hosting upcoming information sessions for three of its four graduate programs: Master of Arts in Education, Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Nursing.
Information sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room on the second floor of Basile Hall on the following dates:
Mount Mercy University will welcome Todd VanNest, Ph.D., founder and president of Next Summit Enterprises in Chicago, as the keynote speaker for the annual MBA Speaker Series. The event will be held Tuesday, April 9, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room in Basile Hall. This event is free and open to the public; seating may be limited.
Mount Mercy University announced plans for a new graduate center during a ceremonial groundbreaking on Friday, November 2. The Mount Mercy University CRST International Graduate Center will undergo renovations immediately for a grand opening planned for the fall of 2013.
The center was made possible thanks to a grant through the U.S. Department of Education and a $2.1 million dollar gift given to the university by Dyan and John Smith on behalf of CRST. The Smiths’ generous gift marks the largest single outright gift in Mount Mercy’s 85-year history.
Mount Mercy University is offering information sessions about its graduate programs in October and November. Graduate programs available include Master of Business Administration, Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master of Arts in Education. Classes are held on weeknights and/or Saturdays, accommodating busy, working adults.
The Arc of East Central Iowa recognized Mount Mercy University's Master of Business Administration program as the winner of the Business Supporter of the Year for 2012. The university received the award at The Arc's Annual Meeting and Awards presentation. The Arc's Executive Director Delaine Petersen nominated Mount Mercy for the award.
Mount Mercy University's Clinical Director for the Marriage and Family Therapy program Jacob Christenson, Ph.D., will serve on a new research advisory council for Tanager Place and their newly launched Research Center.
During an inspiring lecture at Mount Mercy University on March 13, Van Meter, Inc. CEO Barry Boyer, keynote speaker for the 2012 MBA Speaker Series, explained a new approach to business that’s making a difference in big ways. In his speech, “Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things,” Boyer stressed the importance of finding ways to engage employees that encourages them to take a piece of ownership in their company.
Mount Mercy University has named Kathryn Dolter, Ph.D., program director for the Master of Arts in Nursing graduate program. Jacob Christenson, Ph.D., has been named the clinical director of Mount Mercy's Marriage and Family Therapy program.
Mount Mercy University announced today that Tom Castle has been named interim assistant provost and dean of adult programs. Colette Atkins has been named assistant dean of adult accelerated programs, and Randy Lyle, Ph.D., has been named assistant dean of graduate programs.
Mount Mercy University will host an information session on its Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy program on Wednesday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall.
The event will include an overview of the program, a question and answer session with current students and faculty, information on financial aid, and door prizes.
