Mount Mercy University is pleased to announce Will Oprisko as assistant vice president and dean of students. Oprisko comes to the university from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, where he was dean of students. He holds a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries from Taylor University and an M.S.Ed. in Student Affairs Administration from Indiana University.

Mount Mercy University celebrated employees during the May 5 Employee Appreciation & Awards Dinner, held at the CRST International Graduate Center. During the event, two inaugural awards were given for outstanding service to the campus community.

Mount Mercy University administration, faculty and staff gathered on Wednesday in the Chapel of Mercy to sign a statement against hatred and intimidation. A short prayer service, “Prayer for Peace and Understanding,” preceded the signing. The statement, in response to increased nation-wide reports of hatred and intimidation based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status and other factors, reads in part:
