Mount Mercy University's Janalyn Hanson White Gallery is featuring 'Namaste Nepal! Contemporary Artist Voices' March 8 - April 7, 2013. Kathryn Hagy, associate professor of art and chair of the Department of Communication, Literature, and Arts, shares insights on the exhibit.
Austin Kness, baritone; Susannah Biller-Kness, soprano; and Mount Mercy's music faculty member Tony Nickle, pianist; give a sneak peek of their Valentine's Day performance. The trio presented art songs and arias that capture the many faces of love with works from Mozart, Monteverdi, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Bellini, Faure and Korngold.
Mount Mercy University CRST International Graduate Center Groundbreaking
Mount Mercy University announced plans for a new graduate center during a ceremonial groundbreaking on Friday, November 2. The Mount Mercy University CRST International Graduate Center will undergo renovations immediately for a grand opening planned for the fall of 2013.

Mount Mercy University commencement activities were held the weekend of May 20, 2012. Over 500 students graduated from the university in undergraduate and graduate programs. This commencement marked the first year Mount Mercy graduated students in the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Science in Nursing.
Nursing students graduating from Mount Mercy received their nursing pins on Saturday, May 19, as part of commencement activities. The celebration included remarks from keynote speaker Julie McIntosh, lecturer of nursing at Mount Mercy, as well as senior class speakers Tiffany Bevins and Camilla Martin.

Students in Mount Mercy's graduate program received their academic hoods in a Graduate Hooding Ceremony on Friday, May 18, 2012, as part of commencement activities at Mount Mercy University.
Four graduate programs were represented in the ceremony: Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Science in Nursing. This commencement marked the first year Mount Mercy graduated students in the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Science in Nursing.
Mount Mercy University was pleased to welcome the Hawkeye Area Boy Scouts of America to campus May 11 - 13 for a camp out on the Hill! The Scouts were treated to visits from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the Cedar Rapids Police Department's K9 Unit, and KGAN CBS2.
Mount Mercy University welcomed community partners and members of the public during the 10th annual HACAP Freedom from Hunger campaign kickoff, held in the University Center at Mount Mercy University on May 11. Special guest speakers included Mount Mercy President Christopher Blake; Rockwell Collins representative and Freedom from Hunger committee member Dave Gosch; Julia Kent, from KMRY and Director of Food Reservoir Bob Untiedt.
