Mount Mercy University recognizes that hate is not a thing of the past—acts of hate occur not only across the world but also right here on campus. Accordingly, MMU employees and students stand united against hate and reaffirm our Mercy values of compassion and hospitality. Just because we differ from one another does not give us the right to express hate toward one another. Our differences are welcome; hate is not.

The Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex is nearing completion. Student athletes began using the fields in early September. Landscaping comprises the majority of work remaining. A grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at the complex.

Construction continues on the track, soccer, and baseball fields. Upon completion in August 2017, The Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex will provide a permanent home for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field, baseball, and softball.

Dr. Jacob Eisenbach was born in Poland in 1923. After the German army invaded his country in 1939, Jacob’s neighborhood in Lodz, a predominantly-Jewish ghetto, became a fenced-in prison camp. The war tore the Eisenbach family apart, taking his father, brother and sister (his mother passed away prior to the invasion). Only Jacob and his brother Sam survived.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) — The meaning behind the anti-Trump protests can sometimes get lost in the noise, so in an effort to support those who are most vulnerable, many people are turning to a quiet act of solidarity. Some have chosen to clip one safety pin on their clothes to support those who might have felt attacked during Donald Trump’s campaign. David Butts, assistant director of diversity and engagement at Mount Mercy University, said it’s part of the ebb and flow of social movements.
