Women in Leadership | Sydney Rieckhoff

You're invited to the monthly Women in Leadership speaker event at our CRST International Graduate Center on Tuesday, September 24.
We will host Sydney Rieckhoff, CEO of Almost Famous Popcorn.
This event will take place in-person at our graduate center, located at 1650 Matterhorn Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids. Arrive at 11:30 AM for an ice cream social and networking. The presentation begins at noon with time for questions to follow. Feel free to bring your lunch with you.

Women in Leadership is a monthly discussion and networking event series, featuring women leaders willing to share their experiences in education, nursing, business, and leadership. Anyone can attend and enjoy meeting local professionals as they recant their leadership stories.
Sydney Rieckhoff is a Cedar Rapids native. In 2012, while a freshman in high school, she and her brother, Carter, opened stands inside the Newbo City Market selling ice cream and popcorn.
Over the next 11 years, these stands evolved into Almost Famous Popcorn Company which today has both a flagship retail location and production facility in Cedar Rapids.
In 2022, Sydney and her family acquired Cedar Creek Popcorn in Sac City, Iowa. This acquisition doubled the size of their operation and also made them the caretakers of the World's Largest Popcorn Ball.
While building Almost Famous, Sydney pursued a degree in International Relations at Stanford University, graduating in 2020. After working as a Software Engineer in Chicago, she returned home in 2022 as the full-time CEO of Almost Famous.
