On this guided walking tour, you’ll hear directly from student ambassadors about the exciting things happening at MMU. Tour will run approximately 1 hour with a few golf cart options available.

Athletic Hall of Fame Social and Induction Ceremony

5:00–8:30 PM | Rinderknecht Athletic Center

Cheer on the 2020-21 Hall of Fame Inductees by joining us for a reception and awards ceremony! You’ll also get the chance to connect with coaches, current players and your former teammates.

Cookout & Wente Education Center Open House

All education graduates, and especially the Class of 1971, are invited to this family friendly event to connect with friends, alumni, education professors, and retired education faculty. This event will provide an opportunity to see the fabulous new space for teacher education, The Wente Education Center, made possible through a transformational gift from Arlin and the late Janice Nie Wente ‘71. The Wente Education Center is located within the Busse Library. All alumni are welcome and lunch will be provided.

Class of 1971—The Wente Education Center was made possible by your classmate, the late Janice Nie Wente '71, and her husband Arlin. Please plan to attend this special event together to celebrate and remember Janice.

Celebration on the Hill

With so much to celebrate, you won’t want to miss this event. All alumni classes are invited to attend and celebrate the 2020-21 Alumni Award recipients and our special reunion years (if your graduation year ends in a 1 or 6, that’s you)!

We can promise great food and beverages, stellar music from the MMU Jazz Band, and the chance to peruse your class photos! Indoor and outdoor seating will be available.

All Homecoming & Alumni Weekend events are free to alumni and their guests. We do ask that you RSVP in advance to help with planning. RSVP links for Celebration on the Hill and the Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony can be found above. 

Absolutely! Both the Hall of Fame and Celebration on the Hill events will be livestreamed on the Mount Mercy University YouTube channel.

Yes! We have reserved a limited block of rooms at The Hampton Inn & Suites- North for a discounted rate September 24 and 25. To book at the discounted rate, call 319-832-1130, dial 1 for reservations and ask for the group code of “ALM." To qualify for the discounted rate, reservations need to be made prior to September 3.

The Hall of Fame Social & Induction Ceremony will be held at the Rinderknecht Athletic Center. Parking is available at the Rinderknecht Athletic Center as well as the Plaster Athletic Complex (19th Street entrance).

For Campus Tours, Mass, and Celebration on the Hill, parking is available in the Prairie Drive Lot, as well as on Mercy Drive. See the map here.

Class photos can be captured at the Celebration on the Hill event, where we will have a professional photographer on-site. All photos and videos taken during Homecoming and Alumni Weekend will be posted on the Mount Mercy Alumni social media channels. Be sure tag your friends!

Both campus tours and Celebration on the Hill will be held partially outdoor. Please be sure to dress for the occasion! Recommended attire for the weekend is dressy casual.
