Gallery Exhibit: Photography by Chris Mortenson

Janalyn Hanson White Gallery will feature the works of Chris Mortenson in the exhibit “Photography by Chris Mortenson” October 14 – November 8. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Viewings can be arranged outside or regular hours by checking out a key from the University Center Information Desk.

Chris Mortenson is an artist and educator living in Iowa City, Iowa. His work is concerned with how society engages with the natural world through imagery, definition, and experience. Mortenson’s collections capture breathtaking views of scenic, rural areas of the country as well as thought-provoking compositions of cityscapes. 

Mortenson received his MFA from The University of Iowa and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Photography at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. and an Instructor of Photography at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He has received many awards, grants, fellowships, and residencies, and has an extensive past in lecturing, presenting, and exhibiting art.
