John Smith, Chairman of the Board at CRST International, will serve as the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Mount Mercy University Presidential Lecture Series on Friday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m. in the Francis Pruss Conference Center at the Mount Mercy University CRST International Graduate Center. The lecture, which immediately follows the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the CRST International Graduate Center at 3 p.m., is free and open to the public; seating may be limited.
John Smith, Chairman of the Board at CRST International and a key leader within the Cedar Rapids community, will serve as the keynote speaker for the Presidential Lecture Series at Mount Mercy University. Smith has been a fixture on the Corridor Business Journal’s list of the most influential people, and in 2011, he and his wife Dyan were named the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation’s Philanthropists of the Year. In his presentation, The Path to Leadership, Smith will address the history of CRST and his involvement and leadership in the company, his leadership in the community, and his leadership in higher education.
The annual Presidential Lecture Series brings prominent speakers to campus who highlight key developments in society that relate to the mission and values of Mount Mercy University and the Sisters of Mercy.
