Mount Mercy University students from around the world are coming together to represent their nation at the Multicultural Fair on Thursday, April 25, from 3:00-5:45 p.m. in the University Center Commons. Join Mount Mercy for this unique experience in showcasing the cultures of Mount Mercy's international students. This event is free and open to the public; limited space is available.
During the Multicultural Fair, international students will feature the foods, artifacts and cultural distinctions of their native countries. Classmates, professors and members of the community will be able to visit and learn more about specific countries, traditions and heritages. Countries that will be represented in the Multicultural Fair include: Jamaica, Croatia, Serbia, Bahamas, Egypt, Lebanon, Scotland/Wales, England, Australia, Czech Republic, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Germany and Venezuela.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the event with the Mount Mercy University Choir performing at 3:30 p.m., and interactive dance routines lead by Belkis Suarez, assistant professor of Spanish. Door prizes that include several gift cards to local ethnic restaurants will also be given away.
