Throughout the 2013 – 2014 academic year, Mount Mercy will offer a total of nine, five-week blocks with the first block of courses starting on August 24. At $450 per credit hour, tuition rates for the new programs are affordable and competitive. In addition, Mount Mercy makes it easy for transfer students to transition credits from other institutions into Mount Mercy's program. In fact, our accelerated, five-week course schedule allows students with an associate's degree to complete their bachelor's degree entirely online in as little as two years.
"Offering these new online programs will allow Mount Mercy to continue meeting the needs of our students, especially our adult students who have other obligations, such as full-time jobs and families. Their need for a quality education is still being met while taking into consideration their busy schedules," said Interim Assistant Provost for Adult Student Programs Tom Castle.
As an added benefit, Mount Mercy is offering new Mount Mercy students who successfully complete their first online course by December 31, 2013, a $1,000 scholarship to apply toward future online tuition costs. This scholarship opportunity is available to students in either bachelor's program who have applied and been accepted to Mount Mercy for the Fall 2013 semester. For the Fall 2013 semester, course blocks start on August 24, September 30 and November 11; however, space is limited so those wishing to receive the $1,000 scholarship should apply now.
Mount Mercy offers unique educational opportunities, which include the Mercy values of service and leadership as part of the academic experience. Faculty members are connected to local alumni and business leaders, which can lead to networking and future employment opportunities for students. Mount Mercy has served as a leader of adult education and continues to expand in its offerings for adult learners in supportive environments.
