Visit Mount Mercy during Iowa Private College Week August 5 - 9

Mount Mercy University invites high school students and their parents/guardians to visit campus during Iowa Private College Week August 5 – 9. Prospective students will have the opportunity to tour campus, meet with professors, coaches and current students, and learn about academic and extracurricular opportunities. Sessions are available in the morning or afternoon each day of the week. The first session begins at 9:00 a.m. and the afternoon session is held at 1:30 p.m. To register, visit http://www.mtmercy.edu/ipcw.

All Iowa Private College Week visitors receive a free t-shirt and will have the opportunity to participate in a fun carnival-type fair with games and prizes, as well as a photo booth. A free lunch is offered to families during the morning session.

"Iowa Private College Week is a great time to find your perfect college fit and meet current students and get their perspective. We work hard to make it a fun week for our visitors because we appreciate them taking the time to visit Mount Mercy and learn more about life on the Hill," said Assistant Director of Admissions and Events Coordinator Heidi Goetzinger.

Currently all full-time freshmen receive some sort of institutional financial aid from Mount Mercy to help make the cost of higher education more affordable. Mount Mercy offers more than 35 majors and as many minors through eight academic departments. Popular majors include criminal justice, nursing, education and business administration. The university also has four graduate programs: Master of Arts in Education, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Science in Nursing.

Outside of the classroom, Mount Mercy students are known for their commitment to service and volunteerism. Whether giving time on campus or in the community, Mount Mercy students graduate with valuable experience gained from lessons learned in and outside of the classroom.

"I am so blessed to have been a part of this community during undergrad and am proud to be an alumna. My professors were wonderful and cared about my success academically and personally."

Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and a member of the Conference for Mercy Higher Education (CMHE), Mount Mercy is a private, Catholic liberal arts university which pays tribute to its Mercy heritage. Mount Mercy is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and was granted a full 10-year reaccreditation with no stipulations this spring.
